Setting the scene for learning

This section is concerned with the creation of an ethos and set of expectations that will allow the maximum amount of learning to take place. The aim is to ensure that all students are aware of what they are doing and why, what is expected of them in terms of behaviour, attitudes and approaches, and to make clear the responsibilities of students and teachers. Being explicit about expectations and involving students in defining ground rules promote trust and cooperation.
